Piezo Motor

The P-653 piezo motor from Physik Instrumente (Auburn, MA) is smaller than other miniature linear stages and provides higher velocity and resolution. The linear motor system comprises only four parts and provides speeds of up to 200 mm/sec (8in./sec).

altMeasuring only 8.0mm long, the stage offers a travel range of 2mm and sub-micron resolution, combined with a high holding force of 0.15N (0.5 oz). Integrating the P-653 into an application is simple because the moving slider and the piezo motor are assembled as a unit and already mounted on a PCB driver board requiring only a 5-VDC supply voltage.

The motor drives are ideal for OEM applications where space is at a premium. They are optimized to move small objects such as optical fibers, micro-optics, or micro-electro-mechanical elements fast and precisely.
