Motion Control Software

ACS Motion Control (Plymouth, MN) has enhanced its motion control software to support the IEC61131-3 programming language. Designated Application Development Kit (ADK) 6.0, the PLC Open compliant control software allows users to program using any of the five languages in addition to ACSPL+.

altADK 6.0 software provides fully variable mapping that enables flexible bi-directional interfacing, mutual synchronization, and functionality exchange between ACSPL+ and IEC 61131-3 programs. The addition of full CANOpen support allows SPiiPlus motion controllers to be configured as a CANOpen Master, per the DS-402 specification, and control up to 64 nodes of motion or I/O.

The software also allows advanced two-phase, step motor operation in both open and closed-loop modes when operated by the internal amplifiers of the SPiiPlus CM and MC4U. In closed-loop operation, the step motors provide performance approaching that of servo motors.
