Rotary Encoder

The RVS58S incremental rotary encoder from Pepperl+Fuchs (Twinsburg, OH) is designed for safety aligned systems up to SIL3 in accordance with IEC 61508, and Category 4 in accordance with DIN EN 954-1. It is also suited for use as a motor feedback system for safe drives in accordance with IEC 61800-5-2.

The encoder has a sine/cosine interface, 1024 or 2048 signal periods, and is thermally stabilized for high resolution interpolation. It handles shaft loads of 40 N at 6,000 rpm or 10 N at 12,000 rpm.
