altPHOTONIS USA (Sturbridge, MA) has introduced an optical receiver that is capable of sustaining tens of microamperes of signal current over an indefinite period. It also features an integrated power supply with low power consumption and a small footprint. The receiver promotes an active area of 12 mm, and data rates are expected to reach 2 GHz, with rise times of 220 pS.
