Scientific Cameras

Oriel®, a Newport Corporation Brand, Stratford, CT, has introduced two scientific cameras, the InstaSpec® ISX CCD and the InstaSpec ISX IR. The cameras are available with InstaSpec ProTM software, which provides system control of single- or dual-camera configurations, and all the functions of an Oriel spectrograph. The output from one or two cameras can be joined via a proprietary “stitch and glue” function to provide a single graphic display output of the acquired spectrum. The data format permits export to other packages for additional or enhanced post-processing tasks. The software features auto-calibration for the spectrograph and the installed cameras, and integrated pop-up help to facilitate setup.

altThe InstaSpec ISX CCD camera features a back-illuminated CCD sensor with a 1024 × 122 pixel array (24 × 24μm pixel size). It is designed for operation in the 200 to 1100-nm spectral range, making it suitable for spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), emission, reflectance, and multi-stripe absorbance applications. The InstaSpec ISX IR scientific camera is designed with an indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) linear array (1 × 256 pixels) with a 50-micron pitch that operates in the 800 to 1700-nm spectral range. The line scan detector is suited for scanning applications in the infrared, such as spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy.
