Andor Technology, South Windsor, CT, has released the iXon X3 range of electron multiplying charge coupled device (EMCCD) cameras. The OptAcquireTM interface allows users to single-click various camera acquisition parameters. The device also offers Count Convert functionality, providing real time data acquisition in units of electrons or incident photons. Additional new features include spurious noise filters, a cropped sensor mode to boost frame rates, photo counting capabilities, and real-time data averaging.
