altRB Series Generation II linear profile guide rail brakes from Nexen Group (Vadnais Heights, MN) are designed for stopping and holding in e-stop and power-off situations. Each rail brake clamps directly onto the center of the guide rail to provide positive braking and holding on all axes, with no effect on the bearing surfaces. The field-adjustable friction facing contact area minimizes rail wear. No lubrication or periodic maintenance is required, and the brakes fit most popular profile guide rails. Other features include low backlash, brake geometry similar to linear bearing cassettes, large clearance area between the brake and rail, and static holding cycle life in excess of one million cycles.
