Self-Healing Slide Ring Material Paint

A slide ring material (SRM) paint is able to heal a majority of surface scratches by itself. When disturbed by minor abrasions, the paint’s cross-linked molecules retain mobility, and the oleophilic polyrotaxane coating redistributes its tension to slide back into place along the polymer chains, erasing the blemish.

Ideal for mobile phone applications, laptop cases, and similar devices that suffer continual minor scratching and abrasion in pockets, backpacks, and other accessories, the slide ring material resists cracking and peeling, offers improved impact resistance, and prevents fouling and adhesion. The paint is also useful for coating products that require marring resistance, such as metal surfaces, resinous formed articles, and wood products like stairs, floors, and furniture.
