Lumex (Palatine, IL) has announced the global launch of the through-hole QuasarBrite 4-Leaded RGB LED. With a 120° viewing angle, the QuasarBrite 4-Leaded RGB LED is ideally suited for applications that require high intensity light in spatially restricted spaces. The RoHS compliant 4-Leaded RGB LEDs (part number SSL-LX503SIUP-GUSBC) contain three individual dies in red (635nm), green (520nm), and blue (470nm). Additionally, the QuasarBrite 4-Leaded RGB LED boasts a lead frame design that provides superior heat dissipation and provides opportunities for cost and real estate savings. The off-the-board design also provides enhanced convection with air freely passing on all sides of the epoxy for more efficient cooling.
