MSC Software Corp., Santa Ana, CA, has introduced
Marc 2011 simulation software that
enables users to create finite element analysis
(FEA) models. The software offers a new interface and
CAD interoperability, with features for nonlinear contact,
fracture mechanics, composites, meshing, and electromagnetic
simulations. New capabilities include
expanded segment-to-segment contact for large deformation
analysis, coupled multiphysics analysis, Virtual
Crack Closure Technique for fracture mechanics and
crack propagation, and a Strain Invariant Failure
Technique for prediction of failure in composites analysis.
New electromagnetic tetrahedral and triangular elements
are available for performing harmonic and transient
electromagnetic simulations. Enhanced solvers for
parallel processing also are offered.
This week's Question: Fox Sports offered virtual-reality streams from last week's U.S. Open, a major golf championship in Oakmont, PA. Sports fans who owned the right devices could watch the golf event on the television while using VR for...
