Submillimeter Achromats and Doublets

altBern Optics (Westfield, MA) has released submillimeter achromatic lenses as small as 0.20mm in diameter. The achromatic doublet, a compound lens consisting of two elements cemented together, can be custom engineered, ground, and polished to micron tolerances. In addition to careful control of the grinding and polishing of these complex lenses, Bern Optics verifies the centration of each element before and after cementing. They can be produced with or without specialized coatings to meet specific requirements.
