Tech Needs of the Week

New orthobiologic technologies are needed that stimulate bone growth in spinal fusion repairs. Methods that stimulate bone growth, provide growth scaffolding, and promote healing through osteo- induction (where bone formation is actively induced) and osteo- conduction (where a scaffold passively facilitates bone repair) are of particular interest. Ingredients are needed for food products to promote overall bone health, bone mineral content, and bone mineral density. The ingredients must deliver a benefit that demonstrates positive effects beyond known nutrients when measured against a control group on a diet adequate in calcium.
