LM76 (East Longmeadow, MA) offers micro-positioning stages available in travel lengths from 10 mm to 200 mm. The Micro Stage linear positioning stages are available with 6-mm anti-backlash lead screws or 4-mm lead ball screws. They are suitable for pick-and-place, assembly, sampling, testing, and robotics. The Lead Screw Micro Stage linear positioning stages are available in three travel lengths: 10 mm, 30 mm, and 40 mm. Ball Screw Micro Stage positioning stages are available in four travel lengths: 40 mm, 60 mm, 120 mm, and 200 mm.
Vector Fields (Aurora, IL) introduced software for rotating electrical machinery that is part of the OPERA electromagnetic design tool. The software combines finite element analysis modeling with a design entry system that allows users to create electric motor or generator models. Users can select the form of motor or generator they want to design from a list of all common types, including induction, brushless permanent magnet, switched reluctance motors, and synchronous motors or generators. By entering a list of parameters, the model is created automatically.
Kerk Motion Products (Hollis, NH) offers the VHD Series anti-backlash assemblies for eliminating drag and wear associated with high pre-load forces. The VHD assembly uses Kerk's patented axial take-up mechanism, creating a space that will continually expand to accommodate wear that may occur during use. The VHD screw does not require grease to operate and therefore reduces noise and dust. The assemblies feature leads measuring 1.27 mm to 92 mm and lengths to 4 m.
Beswick Engineering (Greenland, NH) has released the PCFCD-1N1, an ultra-miniature pressure-compensated flow control valve with low friction diaphragm. The device is designed to maintain a constant flow rate, regardless of upstream or downstream pressure variations. It works with incompressible fluids and gasses, but is intended for the control of liquids. The pressure regulation is accomplished with a low-friction diaphragm mechanism. The device is available in brass, sealed in a Buna-N material.
