The software offers tooling definition, workcell layout, robot programming, and workcell simulation capabilities. Engineers can plan, simulate, validate, and optimize robotic workcells in a 3D digital factory environment.

Ansoft Corp. (Pittsburgh, PA) has released HFSS™ v11 3D full-wave electromagnetic field simulation software that includes higher-order hierarchical basis functions combined with an iterative solver that provides accurate fields using smaller meshes for large, multi-wavelength structures. A finite element meshing algorithm allows HFSS to simulate complex models faster.

LMS (Leuven, Belgium) introduced LMS Virtual.Lab Fast Trim modeling and simulation solution to assess the acoustic behavior of multi-layer acoustic trim panels. After setting up the multilayered layout of a panel and defining the properties of its constituting layers, the transfer admittances of the complete trim structure are calculated as a function of frequency. In a subsequent vibro-acoustic finite element analysis, LMS Virtual.Lab Acoustics simulates the performance of the multilayer trim in the presence of flexible panels from a vehicle body or airplane fuselage.

think3 (West Chester, OH) has announced the availability of a direct link between thinkdesign, its 3D modelling environment, and the ANSYS® Workbench™ analysis solution from ANSYS (Canonsburg, PA). Solid models obtained in the think3 3D environment can be transferred directly to the ANSYS Workbench simulation environment. Associativity links enable designers to update a FEM scenario after a CAD modification while maintaining constraints and loads, and to regenerate a thinkdesign 3D geometry using the ANSYS Workbench and solver.
