Government Resource for Algorithm Verification, Independent Test, and Evaluation (GRAVITE) system is a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) system, developed and deployed by Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Ground Project to support Calibration and Validation (Cal/Val), Data Quality Monitoring, and Algorithm Investigation, Tuning and Integration. GRAVITE enables novice and expert users to discover and obtain data easily by using standard protocols. The Upload Tool is a component of the GRAVITE version 3.0 (GV3.0) system. It allows an authorized user to upload data to the system. The data can be ingested, managed, and made available for other scientists to share.

A simple command line interface was developed for users to upload files and folders to the system. The command line requires users to input the user type that classifies their data. Users can provide an optional expiration date for the files, which otherwise will default to 34 days (two 17-day repeat cycles). Additional functionality enables users to provide a list of files to upload or a directory that would automatically upload all the files in that directory.
