After a full week in Germany, Rittal Corporation (www.rittal.us ), the world’s largest enclosure manufacturer and a leader in thermal management of electrical, electronic, and IT equipment, brought its “Win a Trip to Hannover Fair with Rittal!” contest to a close with tours of three of its facilities.

The trip began with two days at the Hannover Fair industrial technology show, which was opened by President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, both of whom toured the Rittal booth and visited with Rittal Chief Executive Officer and Owner, Dr. Friedhelm Loh.

The four contest winners were able to learn firsthand about the extensive line of products available from Rittal at the fair. The four winners were chosen at random from thousands of online contest entries, and enjoyed an all-expenses-paid trip to join Rittal at the world’s largest manufacturing and technology trade show.

The winners were: Andrew Neeld, Automation Engineer from Sedro Woolley, WA; Jerry Flynn, Principal Engineer from Albany, OR; Christopher Relyea from Columbus, OH; and Michael DeRosso, Sr. Engineering Technologist from Houston, TX.

“Hannover Fair is the largest trade fair and industrial technology show in the world,” said Dean Arvanitis, Director of Marketing for Rittal. “It’s certainly a special event for Rittal. In fact, we’re one of only two companies to have a permanent exhibit in the facility that stands year-round. Engineers love going to Hannover to get a first look at what’s coming up that’s new,” said Arvanitis. “Our contest gives a select few the opportunity to see the newest products for their facilities, learn about trends, and spend focused time with an industry leader like Rittal.”

The group visited Rittal Headquarters and Quality Labs in Herborn, a manufacturing facility in Dietzhölztal-Rittershausen, and the company’s newest facility, a Global Distribution Center that opened last spring in Haiger.

The Rittershausen facility manufactures freestanding enclosures such as the TS 8 bayed enclosure systems, and features robotic laser welding stations, robotic and manual-supported paint lines, and multiple horizontal and vertical roll forming lines. The new Global Distribution Center, which will soon also house a new manufacturing facility, includes more than 24,000 boxes in a highly automated small parts storage warehouse.
