Copley Controls (Canton, MA) offers the ServoTube actuator with twin outrigger bearings designed for applications subject to high side loading. A ball-bushing option with steel bearing rails provides maximum side-loading support. Optional polymer bushings, which use aluminum rails, are suitable for vertical loads. The new bearing structure minimizes jamming and simplifies actuator integration into rugged industrial equipment.
The new iron-sleeve design produces up to 20% more thrust than standard ServoTube actuators. Four models deliver continuous force from 14-27 pounds, with peak forces to 193 pounds. Twelve stroke lengths from 29 to 311 mm are available. The actuator’s magnetic design provides 12-micron repeatability and 250-micron accuracy from a non-contact integral position sensor.
