Teledyne DALSA (Billerica, MA) has announced two 2k-resolution versions of its Piranha4 ™ series. The monochrome Piranha4 dual line scan camera delivers a maximum line rate of 100 kHz in TDI mode, or 200 kHz in Area mode. The Piranha4 2k trilinear model offers a maximum line rate of 70 kHz. Advanced features include sub-pixel spatial correction, lens and shading correction, and flat field correction.

Both the color and monochrome models use advanced chipsets to deliver high throughput, with extended Camera Link cable lengths to 30 meters. The GenICam™-compliant interface eases setup and integration. Area mode enables the Piranha4 2k dual line scan camera to operate two times faster (200 kHz) for increased speed, while the ability to operate in TDI mode (100 kHz) provides better responsivity and signal- to-noise ratio. High dynamic range mode allows longer exposure time on one line and shorter on the second line. Other features include sub-pixel spatial correction and multi-angle positioning.
