Springs, polymers, and pneumatic or hydraulic devices react to impacts, but a recently developed damping technology calculates and controls the forces that should be applied. Within the device, two electromagnets with different polarities are put in contact, and the repulsion force is used against the forces generated by contact. A specialized micro-controlled circuit connected to special sensors calculates, in real time, the appropriate level of magnetic field strength, in order to dampen the received impact, whose intensity of force can be contained in a wide variation field.

The device can respond to commands and react in advance to a predicted event, expanding and/or contracting by changing the polarity of the electromagnet. The technology can also be assembled into a network with two or more devices interconnected through a smart controller, without losing the ability of damping in each individual area.
