The tPac™ Telemonitor ing System from Dataforth Corp., Tucson, AZ, provides a complete remote-access monitoring solution in a box. Users connect sensors to the tPac system terminals, connect their modem or switch to the Ethernet socket, and can immediately access their process, facility, or laboratory experiment from anywhere on the Internet or an intranet. No application software is required because tPac- Viewer delivers the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) via the Web browser. Each analog input can monitor temperature, pressure, frequency, voltage, current, position, strain, or any other signal provided by a sensor. Each analog output can control a device such as a variable-position valve or actuator, or provide a voltage or current. The tPac system is modular and configurable using a selection from nearly 100 Dataforth 8B isolated analog I/O modules and more than a dozen isolated digital I/O modules.
