NASA Tech Briefs' 2007 National Nano Engineering Conference (NNEC), November 14-15 at the Marriott Boston Copley Place, is the premier event focused on current and future developments in engineering innovations at the nanoscale, as well as the commercialization of nanotechnology. The event also includes the presentation of the third annual Nano 50™ Awards.

This year, a number of Nano 50 recipients will highlight their award-winning technologies in selected panel sessions. Dr. Omid Farokhzad, an assistant professor and practicing physician in the Department of Anesthesiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), is a Nano 50 winner in the Innovator category. Dr. Farokhzad has pioneered the application of micro and nanotechnologies for high-throughput development and screening of targeted drug delivery systems for a myriad of clinical applications -- most notably cancer. His research group is focused on engineering smart nanoparticles for therapeutic and diagnostic applications, including delivering drugs to prostate cancer cells while simultaneously imaging the cancer location.

Find out more in Dr. Farokhzad's presentation in the Pharmaceuticals/Drug Delivery session on Thursday, November 15, at 9:00 am.For more information, and to register for the NNEC, visit here .
