A system and method are provided for measuring the rate of rotation.
This invention will allow high frequency measurements (>10 Hz) to a large number of targets (>50) with no a priori knowledge or restrictions on the target position or movement.
Current commercial aircraft exhibit uneven responses of the primary flight control surfaces to aggressive
pilot control commands, resulting in a marked deterioration in the pilot's ability to control his/her aircraft, at a minimum, and can cause catastrophic loss of control, and loss of the aircraft. The subject innovation would maintain harmony between the pilot's commands and the control surface responses, while providing
improved feedback to the pilot on the state of his/her control system.
The new technology reported here, supported by Project Prometheus, is a novel high efficiency, high power Ka-band Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA) power combiner based on a 4-port waveguide hybrid junction called a magic-T.
A new architecture is presented that simultaneously provides high sensitivity, excellent angular response and is compatible with next generation CMOS dielectric and metallizaton technologies.
