It’s easy, and relatively reliable, to determine the amount of usage of a car or an airplane. Cars have odometers and airplanes have Hobbs Meters. Unfortunately, there is no equivalent device for determining the age of electronic equipment. Electronic equipment, especially high priced equipment, needs an odometer. I can think of two straightforward ways to implement such a device.
