NASA/MSFC has demonstrated repeatably through hundreds of hours of operation, the proof of principle
operation of the cylindrical asymmetrical capacitor in the laboratory operating at one atmosphere. Placing
a high voltage across the cylindrical asymmetrical capacitor configuration in air results in a force being
generated.Applications envisioned include
attitude control for satellites and other applications needing relatively low thrust, long lifetime space
propulsion. |
