Rotating Torque Sensor

The Model 01424 rotating torque sensor from Sensor Developments (Lake Orion, MI) uses a shaft-to-shaft configuration for in-line placement, and incorporates a digital non-contact wireless system that provides power to the rotating electronics mounted on the shaft, transmitting the signal back to the receiver in digital format. The torque signal is then represented as a calibrated, high level analog voltage.

Digital Filtering Development Tool (Quickfilter Technologies)

A new development tool from Quickfilter Technologies (Allen, TX) is designed to simplify the task of adding precision digital filtering to designs based on the Texas Instruments (TI) MSP430 ultra-low-power microcontrollers. The MSP-Mojo enables quick implementation of precision digital filtering through an embedded singlechannel precision digital filter chip, the QF1D512 Simple and Versatile FIR engine (SavFIRe™). Until now, a high level of filtering performance would have required migrating from the low-power MSP430 microcontroller to a higher-powered controller such as a digital signal processor (DSP) or a field programmable gate array (FPGA).
