Wafer Scanner

The Wafer Scanner 3840™ from Rudolph Technologies (Flanders, NJ) is for inspection and metrology of back-end semiconductor manufacturing processes, including bumping, probing, sawing, and dicing. The WS 3840 Inspection System uses Rudolph’s laser triangulation technology to provide fast and accurate measurements of bump height and coplanarity. A time delay integration (TDI) line scan camera provides image-based macro defect inspection for wafer surface and bump, and measures 2D bump characteristics, such as diameter, shape, and placement accuracy.

Siemens PLM Software

Siemens PLM Software, Plano, TX, has introduced synchronous technology, a history-free, feature-based CAD modeling technology integrated into the company’s NX™ and Solid Edge® software. The technology simultaneously synchronizes geometry and rules through a decision- making inference engine. For design, it defines persistent dimensions, parameters, and design rules at the time of creation or edit, without the need for an ordered history. It also automates the implementation of planned or unplanned design changes in seconds, regardless of design orientation, and with or without a history tree. The technology allows users to reuse data from other CAD systems without remodeling. It also merges 2D and 3D environments, and automatically i8nfers common constraints and executes typical commands based on cursor position. For Free Info .

Analog Input Modules

The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech (Cincinnati, OH) has unveiled two new ADAM analog input modules, the ADAM-5017P and ADAM-5018P. The ADAM-5017P has eight different independent configuration channels, supports power reverse, and has a wide unipolar or bipolar input range. The ADAM-5018P is a Thermocouple Input Module which supports seven input ranges and types (J,K,T,E,R,S,B), and will filter functions to remove any unreasonable range.
