Spectroscopy Software Module

A new add-on module for Ocean Optics’ (Dunedin, FL) SpectraSuite Spectrometer Operating Software allows users of the company’s miniature spectrometers and Jaz optical sensing systems to calculate Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR), an important parameter for evaluating the effect of light on plant growth. SpectraSuite-PAR uses the absolute irradiance spectrum (captured by the spectrometer) of the light incident on plants and other samples and conveniently converts the irradiance values from μW/cm2 (microwatts per square centimeter) to μmol/m2/s (micromoles per square meter per second), the measurement unit more commonly used for PAR analysis. Laser Beam Analysis Software

Ophir-Spiricon (Logan, UT) announced recently that Beam-Gage®, the company's next generation laser beam analysis software, now supports the XEVA InGaAs NIR Camera for demanding applications. XEVA delivers high sensitivity in the NIR spectrum (900-1700 nm) at room temperatures. A unique, non-uniformity correction algorithm handles two-point correction plus bad pixel correction to improve image accuracy. The camera's high resolution InGaAs array is formatted for 320x256 with 30 μm square pixels. Based on UltraCal™, Ophir-Spiricon's patented baseline correction algorithm, BeamGage provides high accuracy results, guaranteeing the data baseline (zero-point reference) is accurate to 1/8th of a digital count on a pixel-by-pixel basis. Planet Configuration Direct Monitoring System

Leybold Optics (Cary, NC) is now offering direct monitoring on box coaters with planet (double rotation) configuration. Optical monitoring is used in optical thin film production, in addition to the conventional quartz crystal measurement. The monitor glass is located in a holder, which is fixed on the sun wheel and moves in single rotation. The radial position of the monitor glass is close to the radial position of the planet axis, which is about 300 mm out of the center. The transmittance measurement on the monitoring glass correlates to that of the dome-shaped calotte. The new monitoring system is available for wavelengths from UV to IR. Photonics West Booth #2411

LED Measurement System

The TOCS complies with IESNA LM-79 and LM-80 standards, delivering accurate and reproducible LED measurements.
