LED Indicator Light

DDP (El Segundo, CA) has designed a solid-state LED indicator light called the P81 that features a snap-in installation to a ½" panel opening. The P81 can be modified to include a shunt resistor and metal oxide varistor to protect against circuit noise and transient voltage spikes in critical monitoring and harsh environment applications. To enhance angular visibility, the P81 is offered with clear or colored Lexan lenses in stove pipe or flush mount configurations. The RoHS-compliant P81 LED indicator lights are available in six colors and in nine standard AC and DC voltages.

The iC-MH’s 5 x 5 mm QFN28 package contains integrated Hall sensors with signal amplifier and gain control, two A/D converters for incremental and commutation signals, integrated RS-422 line drivers, and the serial BiSS/SSI-interface. It features angle resolution programmable to 4,096 steps per turn, and the output edge rate of 8 MHz can support motor speeds to 120 RPM. The commutation signals UVW are available to drive motors with two and four poles.

Vibrating Micro Motors

SANYO DC Micro Motor Division, Bensenville, IL, has developed the BSY-3089 vibrating micro motor suitable for applications requiring a small footprint on surface-mount circuit boards. The motor measures 11 mm in length, with a 4.4-mm-wide body × 3.4 mm height off the mounting surface. Typical speed is 14,000 rpm with a counterweight of 1.7-mm radius and 2.8-mm length. Mechanical noise is 45 dB max. Electrical noise is controlled by a ring varistor. Standard operating voltage is 2.7 VDC. Load current is approximately 65 mA. Operating temperature range for the vibrating micro motor is -20°C to 70°C, while storage temperature range is -30°C to 85°C.
