Laser Pump Reflector

Labsphere’s (North Sutton, NH) Spectralon® Laser Pump Reflectors offer greater than 99 percent reflectance, beam stability, and uniformity. They have a high level of diffusion efficiency coupled with economical machined part flexibility, making them a suitable choice for laser original equipment manufacturers. The Spectralon Laser Pump Reflectors have reduced susceptibility to parasitic oscillations compared to metal, ceramic, or powder-based reflectors and they can be economically fabricated into a wide variety of shapes.

Thermal Camera

The Jade LR is a high-performance thermal camera from Cedip Infrared Systems (Croissy-Beaubourg, France). The camera provides long-range images from fixed position surveillance applications, including passive observation, detection and recognition of targets by day and night. The Jade LR uses motorized lenses (25, 80, and 320 mm focal length), switchable by a single command, to provide detection or recognition capabilities at distances ranging from 5 to 25 km. It can be remotely operated through a communication line with the video image provided in either analog or digital RS422 format.

Water Repellent Cables

Cicoil (Valencia, CA) has released water-repellent silicone cables that are impervious to immersion, high humidity, fungus, and damp operating environments. Also, extremely dry conditions, low humidity, or salt spray and seawater exposure will not affect the cable’s high flexibility or life. The flat silicone cables are available with wire gauges from 4 to 44 AWG and can withstand temperature extremes from -65 degrees to +260 degrees Celsius. They are available in continuous lengths or as assemblies complete with connectors.

Intensified CCD Camera

Hamamatsu Corporation (Bridgewater, NJ) has introduced the C10054 series of compact Intensified CCD (ICCD) cameras for capturing still images or continuous video of high-speed or ultra-low-light phenomena. Key features include a high-speed electronic shutter that provides a shutter time as short as 5 ns, and image intensifiers that increase available light for detection by the camera’s CCD. Spectral response of the camera ranges from UV to visible to near-infrared. The camera head is equipped with either a TV format-type CCD or a progressive scan CCD and image resolution is up to 480 TV lines. The C10054 is available with three different types of photocathodes.
