Linear Actuator

The Servo Cylinder from Ultra Motion (Cutchogue, NY) is a compact brushless DC linear actuator with Phase Index™ absolute position feedback. The integrated Phase Index sensor is digital, high-resolution, and non-contacting with a wide operating temperature range, and is resistant to a range of harsh environmental conditions. The combination of Phase Index with the Servo Cylinder eliminates the need for homing, limit switches, potentiometers, LVDTs, optical encoders, and Hall Effect sensors. The actuator can provide forces up to 530 lbf., speeds up to 14 in/s, and linear travel up to 7.75" with a maximum supply voltage range from 7-48 VDC. Brushless Torque Motors

Electromate (Greenville, DE) offers QTR Series compact torque motors from Tecnotion that can be integrated directly into a machine structure, with an open inner diameter that enables wire and cable feedthrough. The motors come with completely sealed stators and integrated temperature protection and measurement sensors. The motors eliminate the need for mechanical transmission components such as gearboxes, belts, and speed reducers. They feature braided power and sensor cables with strain relief integrated in the stator housing. The motors are available with outer diameters of 105, 133, and 160 mm, and build heights ranging from 17 mm to 92 mm. For Free Info Visit http://info.hotims.com/61060-315

High-Torque Drives

Schneider Electric Motion USA (Marlborough, CT) offers Lexium MDrive NEMA size 23 drives with high-torque stepper motors as an alternative to standard motors. Closed loop performance of the drives eliminates possible motor stalling, and delivers continuous torque at low speeds. It eliminates tuning, and reduces heat and energy usage with variable current control. Various industry-standard communication protocols are available, including EtherNet/IP, ModbusTCP, Profinet, CANopen, and serial RS-422/485 with programmable motion control and pulse/direction input. Actuator Control

The DCH Series actuator control from American Control Electronics (South Beloit, IL) combines an AC-to-DC switching power supply with a regenerative PWM drive to create an all-in-one solution. The control is suited for applications requiring control of 12 or 24 VDC motors when only 115 or 230 VAC power is available. With an isolated front end, this series is compatible with a 0-5 or 0-10 VDC analog from any PLC. With an 8-bit onboard microprocessor, the control can be customized in many applications to replace a PLC. The series also provides an alternative to using higher-voltage controls with the output voltage turned down, which results in current spikes. The control includes an industry-standard microprocessor used on popular PLCs. A modified option allows for linear positioning control of actuators to within 1/1000 of commanded stroke length with the use of feedback resistors. Standard variations include options for torque, cycling, or positioning control. Standard I/O is 1 analog and 4 digital, with custom configurations available. Motor Controllers

PITTMAN® Motors, a business unit of AMETEK Precision Motion Control (Harleysville, PA), announced IDEATM PBL4850E programmable 3-phase brushless motor controllers that let users create distributed standalone motion profiles without the need for additional motion control components such as programmable logic controllers or field communication buses. The controllers feature automatic population of motion profile parameters based on the entry of a few motor characteristics. The 4-quadrant brushless controllers utilize sinusoidal commutation. They incorporate two motion profiles: trapezoidal and s-curve.
