Nexen Group (Vadnais Heights, MN) offers Eclipse Servo Motor Brakes that consume no energy when the brake is disengaged. It is springengaged/ air-released (no electric coil) to keep the brake cool until it is needed. The brakes mount to the shaft end of servomotors up to 20 horsepower, including NEMA 23, 34, and 42 frame sizes. The brake’s square-shaped housing allows flexibility to make the mounting features match the motor dimensions. The brake’s output end duplicates the motor mounting features. The input end bore accepts the motor shaft and is fixed inside the brake with a split-hub/shaft collar arrangement.

It features dual arms, flexible hands, a universal parts feeding system, camera-based part location, lead-through programming, and motion control. The casing is wrapped in soft padding to absorb impacts, enabling the robot to operate in very close collaboration with humans. The scanner can be integrated into production lines to inspect dimension, shape, and position of objects in manufacturing cycles.
