Weekly Status Reporting & Approval Application Revision 2

The Weekly Status Reporting & Approval Application is a Web application that enables organizations to gather weekly or monthly (periodically) statuses electronically from all employees using a time-based process. Users input their status, which may include uploaded images, into previously agreed-to categories. The system provides an approval process that allows for forwarding of statuses up the organizational hierarchy by designated approvers. Approved statuses get put into a final downloadable report. Historical statuses can be downloaded in report form to get a year at a glance for individuals and groups.

CoolSPICE: SPICE Simulator for Cryogenic Electronics

Accurate assessment of circuits at cold temperatures is extremely difficult due to lack of models and tools that can simulate circuit behavior at cryogenic temperatures. A library of cryogenic temperature models was built, as well as a circuit simulator that can use those models and simulate complex circuits at temperatures as low as 4 K.

Telescience Resource Kit, Release 3

Software Tools for Fault Management Technologies

The ability to detect, diagnose, and respond to faults and anomalies in a timely fashion is a major concern in space missions. Fault Management (FM) primarily concerns operational mitigations of spacecraft failures. Qualtech Systems worked towards development of software tools for facilitating FM by using TEAMS (Testability Engineering and Maintenance System) as the underlying platform. The software tools will aid in satisfying a large subset of FM objectives: Determining completeness and appropriateness of FM designs and implementations; decreasing the labor and time required to develop and test FM models and algorithms; improving visualization of FM designs and analytic results; aiding testing and V&V (verification and validation) of FM designs and determining residual risk resulting from incomplete coverage; and increasing reliability of FM systems are major areas of focus.

Data Acquisition and Processing Software — DAPS

DAPS was designed to support the DAWN-AIR project participating in the Genesis and Rapid Intensification Processes (GRIP) hurricane campaign. It controls the data acquisition system consisting of a scanner that directs the lidar beam, an inertial navigation system/GPS (INS/GPS) unit for monitoring aircraft motion, a DSP module, and serial and video modules while acquiring and processing lidar data in real time. DAPS was optimized to meet the project requirement: acquiring and processing more than 550,000 samples per second. DAPS was capable of managing such extensive computational loads without experiencing a single incident of crash or system failure during the entire 130 flight hours of the GRIP mission.

360° Visual Detection and Object Tracking on an Autonomous Surface Vehicle

This software addresses the problem of an autonomous vehicle patrolling a region for objects of interest using multiple cameras. The system must identify and track the objects over time and localize their positions in the world. It implements an autonomous perception and situation awareness system, which receives images from an omnidirectional camera head, identifies objects of interest in these images, and probabilistically tracks the objects’ presences over time, even as they may exist outside of sensor range.

Simulation of Charge Carrier Mobility in Conducting Polymers

Electric conduction in polymers is one of the key elements in avoiding catastrophic internal electrostatic discharge in dielectrics during space missions. This software package enables the simulation of carrier mobility for any given site concentration, which is a material design parameter that can be varied in experimental studies. The software computes the charge mobility for a disordered network of carrier sites. The mobility is obtained by computing the average drift velocity for an applied electric field. The mobility is given by the ratio of the drift velocity to the electric field.
