Jenoptik Optical Systems Division (Jupiter, FL) has added two USB camera types to its CCD microscope camera range: ProgRes® SpeedXTcore 3 and ProgRes® SpeedXTcore 5. SpeedXTcore 3 features a live image speed of 17 fps at the maximum possible resolution of 2080 × 1542 pixels, while the SpeedXTcore 5 offers a live image speed of 13 fps at the maximum possible resolution of 2580 × 1944 pixels. Exposure times up to 180 s capture images under low-light conditions; the maximum color depth is 36 bit. Both cameras can be connected to a microscope, computer, or notebook via the USB 2.0 interface. The cameras include ProgRes CapturePro image capture software.
