Fiber Optic Connectors

Tyco Electronics Corp. (Harrisburg, PA) introduced a line of sealed circular LC ODVA compliant fiber optic connectors, carrying an IP67 environmental sealing rating. The units resist moisture, temperature, and humidity, and may be used in remote interface applications in communication towers, antennae, and FTTX in passive optical networks (PON), as well as residential use. The system includes single-mode and multi-mode plugs, single-mode and multi-mode receptacles, as well as assembly bases and caps for plugs and receptacles. The units have typical multi-mode attenuation loss performance of 0.20 dB (single mode 0.10 dB), typical multi-mode return loss of 45 dB (55 dB single mode), and durability of up to 500 cycles.
