Point Source (Hamble, UK) has developed the iFLEX-ViperTM multi-laser engine that incorporates up to six laser wavelengths, covering the entire visible spectrum range from 405 to 640 nm. It includes a mix-and-match choice of diode, gas, and DPSS laser types with a power of up to 50mW per line and optical noise of 0.25% rms. iFLEX-Viper features kineFLEX fiber optic technology and is supplied in an enclosure measuring 250 mm × 240 mm × 70 mm, with a three meter fiber cable. The fiber output can be specified from a range of footprints with circular, elliptical, and flat-top beam options. The multi-laser engine is suitable for use in pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets for applications such as confocal microscopy and DNA sequencing.
