Inhand Electronics, Inc. (Rockville, MD) along with the Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center (Natick, MA) and the Army Research Lab (Adelphi, MD), have announced the Soldier Flex PDA (SFPDA), the first general-purpose, military-grade PDA utilizing low-power, flexible display technology. The SFPDA has power consumption under 1W, and includes InHand’s PXA270-based Fingertip4 CPU board, Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, and keypad interfaces. With InHand’s BatterySmart system software, the rugged handheld has over 6 hours of run-time and weighs less than one pound.
