Source Engineering (Santa Clara, CA) has introduced planetary brush and brushless gearmotors for OEM applications requiring high torque and speed reduction. They are available in ratios from 3:1 to 3729:1. The 22-mm to 56-mm-diameter gearmotors can be supplied with 3V DC to 36V DC motors; plastic, powder metal, or cut metal gears; and 2/3 channel quadrature optical encoders.

The center-shaft gearheads are available in 22-, 24-, 25-, 28-, 32-, 36-, 45-, and 56-mm frame sizes with either ball or sleeve output shaft bearings. The output shafts can be custom- machined with cross holes, splines, keyways, and flats, or end-drilled and tapped. Designed for input speeds to 6,000 rpm continuous, rated torque goes to 392 kg.cm and maximum torque is 3 times the rated torque.
