The BFK458-L stopping and holding brake from Lenze-AC Tech (Uxbrdige, MA) is guaranteed to run for 10,000,000 cycles or two years of service life. The spring-applied brake has a cast iron casing and carries a two-year warranty.

Four sizes of the brake are available, with shaft sizes from 10 to 25 mm and rated torques from 4 to 46 Nm. Brake coils can be supplied for 25 V low voltage connection or for rectified mains at 103, 180, and 250 V.

The brake is designed as a low-cost solution for stopping and holding duties in rapid, high cycling applications, according to the company.
