Galvanometer Scan Head

Nutfield Technology (Windham, NH) has introduced the XLR8-15 2-axis packaged scan head, the fastest 15-mm head in its class, according to the manufacturer. The scan head is designed to ease integration and manufacturing associated issues with laser scanning systems by reducing the need for specialized tooling and highly skilled assemblers. The XLR8-15 features NTI’s QuantumScan-10 galvanometers with ceramic rotor technology for superior performance. Marking speeds of 400 characters per second are typical. The XLR8-15 also features high-quality hybrid/ceramic ball bearings for long operating life. XLR8-15 scan heads can be configured for a variety of laser wavelengths, and are available with digital and analog electrical interface options.
