The SATIR system from Cedip Infrared Systems (Croissy, France) is designed for infrared analysis of targets on air, sea, or land. Designed to provide outdoor IR radiometric measurements, the system enables operators to collect and store in real time synchronized sequences of images from the three main infrared wavebands: 1-2.5, 3-5, and 8-12 microns. The system uses IR focal plane array detector technology and ultrafast processing electronics, and is mounted in a ruggedized enclosure. The system comprises three IRFPA cameras, each one connected to a single computer for real-time storage. A PC server controls each camera PC and provides image processing. All images taken on the SATIR are referenced with time and location through a GPS receiver. Software provides processing and analysis of IR images and sequences of images.
