Eastman Kodak, Rochester, NY, has introduced the KODAK KAI-02050 image sensor, a 2-megapixel CCD image sensor that provides 1600 × 1200 pixels at a readout speed of 60 frames per second. It is designed for applications such as machine vision, industrial inspection, and medical applications. Designed in the 2/3" optical format, and available in color and monochrome versions, the sensor is based on the KODAK TRUE-SENSE 5.5-micron Interline Transfer CCD platform, which incorporates a progressive-scan 5.5-micron pixel. Also introduced is the KODAK KAF-50100 image sensor, a monochrome, 50-million-pixel sensor with an 8176 × 6132 pixel array.
