Digital Accelerometers

API Technologies Corp. (Orlando, FL), has announced a high-g digital accelerometer from its Sensors line of inertial measurement products. Measuring up to 500 g, this accelerometer is used for shock detection. Available in ±500 g and ±250 g versions, the unit comes in single-axis, dual-axis, and triaxial models. The accelerometers are user-configurable and contain the accelerometer(s), temperature sensor, signal processor, three analog outputs, and an RS-485 interface that connects directly to the user’s PC. The accelerometers come fully calibrated with calibration data stored inside the sensor. Ruggedized construction makes them suitable for harsh environments. Additional features include linearity over a wide temperature range, power and connector kits for set-up, and data analysis tools.
