ABB Robotics (Auburn Hills, MI) has introduced the IRB 120T, a multipurpose 6-axis robot. It is suited for assembly and pick-andplace applications requiring reorientation of the product, commonly found in the food and beverage, consumer packaging, consumer electronics, electrical, and automotive industries. The robot features path repeatability of 0.01 mm, motion control and path accuracy, and weighs 25 kg (55 lbs). It has a standard payload of 3 kg (6.6 lbs), a vertical wrist payload of 4 kg (8.8 lbs), a reach of 580 mm, stroke of 411 mm, and the ability to reach 112 mm below its base.

All IRB 120 models are available with the compact version of the IRC5 controller, making it easy to program and control for a variety of tasks. The Compact IRC5 is fully compatible with the standard and panel mount IRC5 controllers, with FlexPendant programming, RobotStudio offline programming, flexible RAPID language, and communication capabilities.
