The EPOS3 70/10 EtherCAT digital positioning controller from maxon precision motors (Fall River, MA) enables real-time positioning of synchronized multi-axis systems. It offers a nominal power supply voltage range from 11 to 70 VDC. Designed for DC brushed and brushless motors with a power range up to 700W, it provides uniform running for motors equipped with incremental encoders.

The controller integrates as a slave into real-time EtherCAT protocol- based Ethernet networks. Features include speed control with given target velocity to a defined mechanical position using numerous implemented methods. The controller offers circuitry against overcurrent, excess temperature, and undervoltage and overvoltage.
