NP Photonics Inc. (Tucson, AZ) has introduced a mid-infrared (IR) transport fiber that offers high transparency across the visible and mid-infrared (400 nm to 4500 nm) and has been designed to be mechanically robust. The fiber is packaged in armored cable and features SMA connectors and a broadband anti-reflection (AR) coating. The new fiber is ideal for beam delivery in medical applications and is compatible with optical parametric oscillator (OPO) systems and quantum cascade (QC) lasers.

The NP Photonics proprietary fiber technology is used across a broad family of products, including narrow line-width, low phase-noise fiber lasers; compact, high-gain, fiber amplifier modules (CW, pulsed and UF) at 1 micron and 1.55 microns; broadly transparent (0.4 to 5 microns), ultra-low-loss, mid-IR transport fibers and glasses; high-power 2- micron lasers.
