Slotted Motors

Koford Engineering LLC (Winchester, OH) has introduced a line of 5.07" (129 mm)-diameter slotted motors for applications requiring high torque and power in a short axial length. The motors are 3.149" (80 mm) long, with a peak efficiency of up to 95%. They can output 1,267 Watts continuously without heat-sinking or forced air cooling. No-load RPM from 1,040 to 6,928 and input voltages from 24 to 160V are offered. Rugged construction uses class 220 polyimide insulation, stainless ball bearings, and a 416 stainless shaft. A winding temperature sensor and internal over temperature protection for hall sensor versions are offered, as are optical encoders, gearboxes, and matching hall and sensorless drives.
