Rotation Stage

Newport Corp. (Irvine, CA) has introduced the FCR100 rotation stage that features a stepper motor with an integrated controller/ driver using the company’s iPP™ technology. This design simplifies cable management and eliminates the need for a controller or driver setup. All motor parameters are pre-configured for out-of-the-box control. After connecting the power cord and a communication cable, the FCR100 can be controlled from the user’s computer via an included graphical user interface (GUI). ASCII commands and LabView drivers are also available.

The design incorporates crossed roller bearings and a flexible, preloaded, backlash-free worm screw drive to minimize positional errors. The stepper motor directly drives the worm, ensuring an exact relationship between stepper motor input and output stage rotation.
