Concepts NREC, White River Junction, VT, released the Agile Engineering Design System^®, an integrated suite of software modules for CAE/CAM of turbomachinery. New CAM capabilities are the introduction of new toolpaths for roughing gas turbine components using T-shaped slotting disc cutters, improvements for machining inducers and other components such as rocket engine turbopumps, and an optional module for machine simulation. CAE enhancements are a new model for choke prediction in diffusers, the ability to design and analyze mixed-flow turbines, the ability to import legacy axial blades from other systems and design drooped leading edges for axial machines, and additional capabilities to design and analyze secondary flow passages. Design and modeling capabilities are provided in a single user-friendly interface that runs natively on Linux and Windows, allowing seamless transfers of data between modules.
