Yokowo (Tempe, AZ) has launched a miniature multimode fiber optic transceiver that simplifies the design of Industry 4.0 vision applications. Measuring one-third the size of traditional SFP+ transceiver modules, the Yokowo Type-B optical transceiver can be designed into space-constrained applications. Miniaturization and high-speed data transmission speeds ranging from 50 Mbps to 12.5 Gbps and a signal format of NRZ-PRBS231-1 make the Type-B optical transceiver well-suited for machine vision applications. The Type-B optical transceiver offers low power consumption of 150 mW. The Type-B multi-mode transceivers are compatible with LC connectors to provide easier integration and cost savings, as installers can use existing LC optical cables.

The meter measures the average and integrated irradiance in accordance with IEC 60601-2-50 and AAP Guidance. The MSC15-Bili spectral light meter directly displays total irradiance for bilirubin, Ebi (mW/cm2) in accordance with IEC 60601-2-50:2009+A1:2016 as well as average spectral irradiance (μW/cm2/nm) in accordance with the latest American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations. The meter provides individual display screens for AAP 2004 Guidance 430 nm – 490 nm and AAP 2011 Guidance 460 nm – 490 nm (μW/cm2/nm), and IEC 60601-2-50 Ebi, 400 nm – 550 nm (mW/cm2). Optris (Berlin, Germany) now offers the high-speed pyrometer CTlaser 4M specifically for these applications. In addition to its ultra-rapid capture time of 90 μs, it provides a good optical resolution of 33:1 and various focus options. An integrated double laser target allows straightforward alignment onto the object over larger measuring distances. The CTlaser 4M measures within the spectral range of 2.2 μm to 6.0 μm, making it suitable for temperature measurements in the range of 0°C to 500°C on metals, metal oxides, ceramics or for materials with an unknown or changing emissivity. The measurement head can be used at an ambient temperature of up to 70°C - a cooled housing is available for temperatures up to 175°C. The remote electronics unit is connected to the sensor head via a cable which can be up to 15m long. Important parameters can be entered here directly via three keys and an illuminated display.

Opto Diode Corporation (Camarillo, CA), an ITW company, introduced the BXT2S-68TE, a thermoelectrically cooled (TEC), two-stage infrared (IR) detector developed for gas analysis, emissions monitoring, and process control. The lead selenide (PbSe) high-performance IR detector features a 6 mm × 6 mm (36 mm2) active area element housed in a TO8 package with a flat sapphire window. Peak sensitivity ranges from 4.3 μm to 4.5 μm with responsivity ranging from 1.65 × 10 4 V/W (minimum) to 2.5 × 104 V/W (typical). The device features minimum detectivity (D*) of 1.5 × 1010, resistance ranges from 1.0 to 15.0 MOhms, and a typical response time of 12 μsec. The BXT2S-68TE element operating temperature is -25°C; absolute ratings for storage and operating temperatures range from -40 °C to +85°C.

QPD enables 2×2 phase detection autofocus (PDAF) across the sensor’s entire image array, for 100% coverage. Unlike the microlens and half-shield PDAF technologies, which only capture 3-6% of the phase detection data, QPD uniquely captures 100% of this data for improved distance calculation, faster autofocus and better low-light performance. Built on OmniVision’s PureCel® Plus-S stacked die technology, the OV50A integrates an on-chip, QPD color filter array and hardware remosaic, which provides significantly improved autofocus performance.

A portable high-speed recording system from NorPix

NorPix Inc. (Montreal, Canada) has developed a portable high-speed recording system capable of capturing high-definition images from multiple synchronized cameras. The system – based on the company’s StreamPix Recording Station – uses a portable computing system housing a CXP frame grabber. In a demonstration of its capabilities, the system captured images from 2 synchronized high-definition (1920 × 1080, or 1080p) cameras at over 1000 frames per second (fps). Images from the cameras are transmitted via the CoaXPress interface standard, over fiber optic cabling, at over 1000 fps each. This yields a data rate of over 8 Gbps. The system records images from these two cameras without any loss of data and makes the images available for operator playback on-demand.

Metrios (Santarcangelo di Romagna, Italy) has restyled its optical measuring instruments for the shop floor. The large touch screen monitor, improving usability, is still a dominant feature. The load capacity has been significantly increased thanks to a more robust lifting stage. Available in a fixed tabletop version (Metrios model) or with a mobile table (Metrios CROSS model), it is equipped with a high-resolution camera that provides much clearer images than other measuring machines. The vertical stroke runs up to 80 mm in the Metrios CROSS versions, while it remains over 100 mm for the fixed tabletop versions. This feature enables working with jigs and clamping systems. The axes of the Metrios CROSS table have retained their linear motors.
