Programmable High-Voltage DC-DC Converters
Advanced Energy Industries, Denver, CO, has introduced a new series of ultra-miniature isolated single and dual-output high voltage DC-DC converters. They supply up to 600 VDC at 0.5W output power from an input voltage of +5V. Output is proportional to the control pin voltage, giving complete programmability from zero to the maximum rated value. Stability is within 5 percent at maximum Vout and full load.

WebShop Product Finder
The WebShop Product Finder from POSITAL, Hamilton, NJ, enables buyers of encoders, inclinometers, and linear position sensors to search performance characteristics, mechanical properties, and communications interface options. The system provides the user with product codes, data sheets, manuals and certificates, and 2- or 3-D CAD drawings in major file formats. Once an order has been placed, the system initiates the assembly of the required product(s) at POSITAL’s digital factory.

Power-over-Ethernet Transmitter
Emerson, Boulder, CO, has introduced its first Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Coriolis flow measurement device for the food and beverage, life sciences, and chemical industries. The Micro Motion 1600 Coriolis Transmitter is designed to be a scalable solution for facilities wanting to make a gradual transition to remote flow data collection, monitoring, and configuration. It can use just PoE or have a separate direct current power input, depending on wiring availability.

Industrial Interconnects
AirBorn, Georgetown TX, is launching its new iSeries® line of industrial interconnects. It consists of the iW Series (signal and low power, with current rating up to 5A per contact) and the iPowerAmp (power connector, with current rating up to 23A per contact). Based in Mil-Spec but built for industrial applications, iSeries connectors offer high reliability for demanding, and often unforgiving, industrial environments and applications.

LED Testing System
The colorCONTROL MFA sensor system from Micro-Epsilon, Ortenburg, Germany, is used for color, intensity, and function testing of LEDs on electronic assemblies. Its 28 multi-position color recognition system works with 28 receiver sensors that pick up the light from the LEDs on the board. It can also be positioned in small installation spaces between test needles or test pins fastened in the cover of the test adapter. The sensor signals are transmitted directly to the controller via optical fibers.

Ultrathin Supercapacitor
The 3V 750mF prismatic supercapacitor from CAP-XX, Seven Hills, NSW, Australia, can efficiently store and release the energy needed to drive peak-power functions in space-constrained and mission-critical electronic devices. It can complement 3V coin cell batteries or replace bulky 3V cylindrical supercapacitors to save design space or replace batteries altogether when energy harvesters can extract enough environmental energy to charge it in sustainable, battery-less devices.

Metrology Portable Index Table
The speed to inspect a component using a portable, multi-axis measuring arm is increased by up to 40 percent if, instead of the part being static, it is placed on the FREEDOM Index Table from LK Metrology, Castle Donington, U.K. In some cases, it is possible to use a smaller, less expensive arm to access all areas of a component. In other words, the effective measuring volume of any arm is increased.

Narrow Groove Welding System
Pemamek LLC, Cincinnati, OH, has developed an automated semi-narrow groove welding solution for welding plates ranging in size from 2 inches to 6.5 inches. Called Semi-Narrow Gap Welding, this SAW process uses significantly less consumables over the length of the operation resulting in a strong bond in less time and with fewer costs. Full welds are possible from the root weld all the way through to the surface.

DC-to-DC Converters
AutomationDirect has added new RHINO Pro DC-to-DC converters designed for harsh industrial environments and providing high EMC immunity, shock/vibration resistance, and thermal shock resistance. This line offers models with 150W outputs at 12, 15, 24, or 48 VDC, and input voltage ranges of 9.5-36 VDC or 18-75 VDC. They deliver constant current output at 100 percent load, making them ideal for battery charging applications.

M12 Connectors
Recent additions to binder USA’s, Camarillo, CA, M12 portfolio offer new combinations of features — pin count, termination style, locking system, housing materials, and shielding. The company is also developing new M12-threaded products with outer push-pull locking. There is also a single-cable hybrid solution, which combines seven signal contacts with two power contacts to allow power and signal supply in a single connector.

Angled Surface Accelerometer
Kistler, Winterthur, Switzerland, has introduced a piezoelectric sensor solution designed for angled structures such as airplane wings. Thanks to its cylindrical shape, it is freely orientable while having low weight, high sensitivity, and low noise threshold. It can be oriented freely in any direction perpendicular to the coaxial connector. It then measures vibration in the direction of the arrow etched onto the surface of the sensor.

AC Power EMI Filters
Spectrum Control, Marlborough, MA, announced a family of modular AC power EMI filters that help satisfy global EMC regulations, improve time-to-market, address space constraints, and withstand harsh environmental conditions in commercial and military/aerospace systems. They are available in 27 configurations, high common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) attenuation. Suited for 120/240 volts AC, 50/60 Hz applications, they provide excellent insertion loss characteristics at one GHz and above.
